The world has been rapidly making progress over the past few decades. Progress and advancement have been made in each and every field. The world that we see today is completely different and bears a very modern outlook. All this progress though has come at a price and this price has been the growing use of non renewable fuels or fossil fuels which are having a detrimental effect on nature and also putting a strain on the resources of the earth. Non renewable fuels like petrol and diesel among various others are limited and once these fuels are finished they cannot be replenished.
This is one of the major reasons which have given a lot of popularity to the use of solar power or solar energy. Now as we all know the sun is one of nature’s creations and the energy obtained from the sun is called as solar energy. Solar energy is infinitely available and solar energy is very rightly included in the category of energy which is known as renewable sources of energy.
The use of solar energy for various purposes has greatly increased and people have begun to realize that solar power affords the same amount of convenience as fossil fuels and other combustible fuels afford. Solar energy is used for a variety of purposes however one of the most common uses of solar energy is for heating. Solar heating is basically divided into two types. The first type of solar heating is the heating of certain substances like water or food. The other type of solar heating is that which used to heat spaces like rooms in a house or a workplace.
Solar heating and solar lighting are becoming a very popular concept because of their environmentally friendly nature and also because the cost of heating rooms and workplaces is significantly lower than the use of gas or other fuels. There again are two types of solar heating for spaces. The first type includes the use of a thermodynamic collector which stores the heat generated by the solar heater and then transports it to various rooms and spaces through pipes or through radiators.
This system of solar heating is quite common and the installation costs of a thermodynamic collector and a couple of solar panels are certainly not exorbitant. The piping or heating agents which are present in a normal house can be very efficiently used by solar heating mechanisms also and thus there is no extra expenditure of installing an entire piping system in a space.
The other type of solar heating is solar heating which is done through the direct usage of solar power. In this system there is no installation of any thermodynamic device and also a complete absence of collectors for the solar energy. The building or the space is constructed in such a way that heating the room is done directly. The construction takes into account lighting angles for natural light and also the movement of shadows. By doing this the entire space is heated by natural sunlight and is also a very good heating system to adopt.
